Maestro Antiqued Genova 1 orchestra violins are most of the time reproduced with Stradivari Pattern with unfaltering attention to the minutest detail.
Genova models enjoy a particular treatment regarding the finishing style. The technique used for the Genova 1 stringed instruments is considered superior. The Italian varnish is “thinner” (has a lower viscosity) which improves the elasticity of the fibers, and they will, in consequence, vibrate stronger. Also, the instrument is lighter due to its accessories (chin rest, tailpiece, and pegs) made of flamed maple. The wood used is same aged Solid Carpathian Resonance Spruce for the top as in the other maestro Gliga models. On the back, we are using the highest quality Flamed – Solid Carpathian Maple, therefore the aesthetic of your violin will absolutely catch eyes. The maple is hard, stable, not easily susceptible to climate change and provides a very present, warm and mellow tone. This type of very rare strikingly grained wood ensures low density, high speed of sound, and a high modulus of elasticity. These models are unique due to the Antiqued Italian finishing style, with the oil-based varnish hand applied. The purfling is not just decorative but has a functional benefit; the stringed instrument is less susceptible to cracking. We pay attention to the real purpose and all of our fiddles feature hand inlaid purfling. The fittings: tailpiece, pegs, chinrest enjoy a detailed artistry and they are hand carved from very carefully chosen high-quality flamed maple from the Romanian Carpathian Forests surrounding master Vasile Gliga's hometown.
Regarding the sound, you will find it really lovely, deep, and dark. The Antiqued Genova 1 violins are responding very good with Pirastro Evah Pirazzi strings. They are extremely pitch stable and, have a pretty warm sound. We provide all the instruments with the final adjustments. We make it a priority to properly, professionally and fully set up all our instruments.
